Another one of my favorite places in Spain is this little white town Mijas, located on the southeastern coast of Spain.
Upper Mijas has great views of the coast and lots of shops and restaurants. Lower Mijas is a beach town right on the beach, also white and beutiful.
The best way to enjoy Mijas is to get lost in the maze of cobblestone streets and white buildings. Its a small town, eventually you will find your way back to the main square.
On our first visit to Mijas we ate dinner at Alcazaba. This restaurant has a stunning view of lower Mijas and the ocean.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays on the main street in the square they have live music or Flamenco performances. One night we were there for the Flamenco and another for a local pop band.
As you can see on the sign behind the dancer, the town also does a tapas route! We called it a tapas crawl. The participating restaurants offer a tapa with any drink for 2 Euros! What a deal! You get a map with the route and stamp each destination you stop at. I only got 5 out of 10 before I got full, finishing with gelato :)
I loved every nook and cranny of this little town, no such thing as too many pictures! :)
